Wow so at the moment I am in Takiwira(Dargaville) and by the way Hui Amorangi is finished very interesting hui, well hosted by Te Takiwa O Manukau and also positive feed back all round. So after Hui Amorangi I had a good rest on Monday, Tuesday I went into the office and did a bit of work there as I usually do and then on Wednesday I attended the dawn service at the cenotaph in the Auckland Domain and that it self is always a good experience, cause it is that time of the year to remember those whom fought on our behalf in the wars and at the same time it means day off legally. Thursday Hirini and I met with the whanau and rohe at Hemi Tapu Kelston West Auckland seeking support for Chanel Muru as she enters into her ministry as a Manu Karakia and then Friday caught a bus from Auckland to Whangarei and spent half the day in Whangarei with Kersna Cherrington and then I caught a bus from Whangarei heading into Dargaville. So yesterday I met with the ministry unit of Northern Wairoa, it is part of my role as Manu kokiri to keep key authority people and the local pastorate informed as to how the Manu karakia programme is progressing especially when they have Manu Karakia or licensed youth minister among them. So people that is how ended up in Takiwira(Dargaville).
Greetings people I hope you all enjoyed your Easter weekend I know for some of us it was a real headache as there were no shops open, lucky me I live in Otara where 24-7 means 24-7 buy or die situation.
At the moment I am prepping two of our Manu Karakia to be commissioned and at the same time rounding up all the current licensed Manu Karakia and getting them all in to gear for the Tai Tokerau Hui Amorangi. My focus all week this week has been on working with the new Manu Karakia on their ministry plans, the ministry plans is the contract between the Manu Karakia and the Bishop that they are licensed to, the ministry plan helps guide what each Manu Karakia is going to do for their ministry, themselves and their faith. Just click here to read more about the Manu Karakia ministry plan.
So on Tuesday Hirini and I met with Zion Reihana who is going to be Manu Karakia based at Te Karaiti Te Pou Herenga Waka and on Wednesday we met with Chanel Muru out in west Auckland, Chanel Muru is going to be based at Hemi Tapu in west Auckland, on Thursday I met with Arohanui Nicholson at the college and then yesterday we met with Zion’s whanau to seek their support for Zion as he enters into ministry as a Manu Karakia.
This week the focus is on Hui Amorangi and all week as I will be preparing for Hui Amorangi I will also be working with two other Manu Karakia on their Ministry Plan. Till then my fellow readers I will keep you all posted and remember to stay focused and locked into this space for more from me.
Kia ora, kia ora well people sorry I haven’t kept you posted since probably ages ago, I was either too busy or just really too busy.
Yesterday I went to my sister in-laws father’s funeral, and I have just found out that the Samoan Methodist church had a version of Piko nei te matenga, yes Hymn 152 in our himene books so that was pretty cool to join into, I found it hard to sing in tune cause it is the women that starts it off, on a very high note too. My weekend I spent helping set up for Amelia Rika's fundraiser dinner on Sunday night. Amelia Rika is 16 years of age and Amelia is a student of the Auckland Diocesan Girls College and her mother Miriama Houra is student of Te whare Wananga O Te Rau Kahikatea. Amelia is a fast runner who was chosen to be part of the NZCT White Sox Softball team, representing New Zealand in 2008 at the world Olyimpics in Beijing China. So any way I went to the dinner and I had the opportunity of meeting one of the former Black Sox Pitcher Dean Rice who is now the coach for the white White Sox New Zealands Womens soft ball team, I also met retired Judge Michael Brown he was a judge in the district courts of New Zealand, it was a real honour being there to tautoko the kaupapa for the night, my role that evening was DJ/Technical Guy.
Any way today is Good Friday I would like to wish you all a Happy Easter and safe travel if you are at this time and stay locked into this space for more cool posts.
