Profile: Manu Kokiri
Kohine
Name:
Kersna Cherrington
Age: 33
Rohe: Whangarei
Amorangi: Te Tai Tokerau
My pastimes are… “Rugby, Netball, Basketball, Cooking, and
most of all going to church on Sundays.”
I spend most of my time… “Following my children around
with their sports and school trips or just being there when they need
me, which is most of the time. My other spare time is taking up by
helping whanau members and supporting my dad as the Archdeacon of Te Tai
Tokerau and his name is Moses Cherrington.”
Involvement with rangatahi: “I’ve been involved with
rangatahi through out Te Tai Tokerau for four years now, at the moment I
am helping Tapu to organise an Evangelism camp coming up these school
holidays in Auckland. We have other things coming up for this year,
which you all will get to find out shortly.”
In my new role as Manu Kokiri Kohine… “I will help, plant,
nurture, support and give my time to young women to become Kohine
leaders within Te Tai Tokerau. My target will be identifying all young
women who can step up to becoming a Kohine leader, guide and serve them
wherever they may be. I am here to support any young women with whatever
path they may take.”
Last words: “I look forward to meeting and seeing all you
young women within the church and I hope we all become great Kohine
leaders. Until next time may God be with you all.”

A site set up by the Anglican Church in the USA, dedicated to helping young people called to

fascinating read.
